Let me tell you a story.

I am a storyteller. And I believe that stories, when used skillfully and with purpose, can change the course of history. Your personal history--or the history of the world.

The first step to moving forward confidently and claiming the success you deserve is taking ownership of your story, then learning how to present in a way that attracts whatever you're seeking--clients, critical acclaim, a certain type of romantic partner--to you. If your story is appealing, you become appealing, and people want to be a part of your life. Businesses have recognized the power of storytelling and harnessed it for their social media campaigns. There's nothing like an inspiring, relatable, and repeatable creation story to humanize a company and excite people about its products. It's no different for individuals. If you want people to buy what you're selling, you need a great story along with your sales pitch, because the story creates the intimacy needed for your pitch to penetrate.

I tell stories with my writing, and I'll teach you to do it, too.

I also tell stories out loud in front of audiences, with no notes or flash cards. It's a powerful way to relate to people, to let them inside you as you get inside them.

I use stories to help people understand problems. Explanations are boring, aren't they? A short story is worth a thousand lengthy explanations.

And I find stories in everyday experience, stories that shift my thinking and inform my writing, stories that provide an endless supply of material for my craft.
